About Hair For Men
Silhouette Hair for Men is the men's division of Wilshire Wigs & Accessories, the largest wig and hairgoods store in the entire United States and probably in the world. That may seem like a bold statement, but it's the truth. With over 2,000 wigs on display in our showroom and well over 100,000 in stock, we have the largest selection of brands, styles, and colors anywhere, at deeply discounted prices.
Started in 1967 by Ralph Sampson (spelled differently than the Biblical Samson), Wilshire Wigs has steadily expanded, recently moving to a 10,000-square-foot facility in the Los Angeles area. Originally selling exclusively to the beauty trade and to wig shops around the country, Wilshire/Silhouette eventually expanded into direct sale to the public as well, although the beauty trade still accounts for over half our total sales. Then in 1978, a new division, Silhouette Hair For Men, was added, providing the finest quality hairpieces available, again from all major manufacturers at wholesale prices.
Wilshire Wigs is also the primary supplier of hairgoods to the studios, supplying wigs and hairgoods to motion pictures such as "Memoirs of a Geisha ," "Dukes of Hazzard ," "Austin Powers 3: Goldmember," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Forty Year Old Virgin," "Be Cool," "Mission Impossible 3," "Lords of Dogtown," "Miss Congeniality II," "The Adventures of Johnny Tao," and "The Legend of Zoro." For the film "Titanic" we supplied literally hundreds of wigs.
Television shows we have worked with include "Desperate Housewives," "Gilmore Girls," "General Hospital," "My Name Is Earl," "Reno 911," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Six Feet Under," "That 70's Show," and many more. We supply wigs to all kinds of theatrical productions, and to countless celebrities as well.
We supply wigs to all kinds of theatrical productions, such as Cirque du Soleil, Disneyland, the Los Angeles Opera, Jim Henson's Creature Shop, and the Academy Awards.
We have been featured recently on: KCOP, KTLA, The Lifetime Network, and in print publications such as: "In Style" Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, and Buying Retail is Stupid.
With our staff of stylists and ventilators ("ventilator" is the technical name for someone who sews hair) we can do anything you can imagine with hair. We've made custom wigs for pigs(!), a twenty feet long "Rapunzel" wig that an actor used to climb the side of a building, high-quality custom-made lace wigs for film, as well as simpler things like adding hair or re-sizing a wig.
If you are looking for wigs, hairgoods, bulk hair, hair add-ons, hair additions, extensions, or really anything to do with hair, then you'll find it here... and at the cheapest prices you'll find anywhere.
