Do
packages shipped from Hair For Men say the word "wigs" anywhere
on the package?
- No. Because
some customers do not want the word "wig" to appear on any
packages they receive, the return address on all packages is: "Wilshire/
Silhouette". The rest of the package is non-descript (usually a
brown cardboard box).
Does Hair
For Men sell, or otherwise distribute my name and personal information?
- Hair For
Men will not sell, rent or lend your personal account information
in any way and you will not be contacted directly by any 3rd party.
Hair For Men & Accessories will not give out the names of any of
our customers, nor any information regarding any of our customers to
anyone, without the customer's consent.
-
If you
purchase a product or service from hairformen.com, the information
you give, such as your credit card number, purchase information and
contact information, is provided to the banking merchants. This is
simply to enable transactions to take place. We are also sometimes
obligated to determine credit-worthiness of our users.
What
security precautions are in place to protect me?
-
When
you transmit credit card information to complete a purchase or for
verification purposes, we always transmit that credit card number
in an encrypted format. We use the industry-standard, 128-bit SSL
(secure socket layer) encryption. We are using the services of a respected
company that specializes in protecting credit card transactions. The
name of the company is Thawte. Their icon can be seen on our homepage,
and by clicking on it, you can learn more about them.
-
While
we strive to protect your personal information, Hair For Men cannot
ensure or warrant the security of any information during transmission
to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your
own risk. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can
be guaranteed to be 100% secure. However, our site is as secure, if
not more secure than most sites. And as you probably know, credit
card companies will waive the fees on any transactions which you did
not authorize.
What
is a secure server anyway?
- Web browsers
can operate in "normal" mode and in "secure" mode. You can tell which
mode your browser is in by looking at the toolbar at the bottom of the
browser window. If you see a broken key, or an open padlock, you are
in normal mode. If the key is whole, or the padlock is closed, you are
in "secure" mode. When you surf the Net in "normal" mode, all of the
information you type into your browser and all the information the Web
site sends to you are visible to eavesdroppers. When your browser is
in "secure" mode it encrypts all the information between itself and
the server. Encrypted information looks like meaningless garbage to
eavesdroppers, so your personal information is secure.
What
are cookies and how does hairformen.com use them?
- A cookie
is a small amount of text that is sent to your browser from a Web server
and stored on your computer's hard drive. We ask permission to place
the cookie on your computer's hard drive. If you agree by configuring
your browser to accept cookies, then your browser adds the text in a
small file-- and you can always delete these files later if you choose.
- Our website
uses cookies to store information about the products your are ordering,
and other information required to successfully execute the ecommerce
process.
